Parkinson’s Disease

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disease of the nervous system that slows movement, creates rigidity in one’s limbs and trunk, and effects balance and coordination. Physical Therapy can help with improving balance and coordination issues, improving posture and walking speed to prevent falling that is often associated with this disease.

Advanced Physical Therapy has a Parkinson’s-specific exercise class that meets one hour per week and is free to those with Parkinson’s. The class is based on the Delay the Disease program developed by David Zid.
APT also has a physical therapist who is certified in LSVT training (aka Big and Loud) which is a specifically designed treatment protocol for those with Parkinson’s Disease.
